Words of Worship

This is my account of a dream I had going to sleep on July 4, 2026.

I was at an arena. Or the underbelly of an arena, like a public concourse. For a Sunday morning sermon where no one spoke. I had brought a cart with bread and nuts. I knew the cart, the same wooden one parked in my backyard. Women gathered at the cart and were looking through the cart for seeds. They sorted nuts looking. There were a lot of nuts in the cart, some in bags by type and some loose. The bread was like sandwich style, a couple loafs that you’d buy at a grocery store. For a moment, I thought we were at my mom’s house so I went looking for seeds for the women where I thought there were seeds.

I considered asking my stepdad “where are the seeds?” But he wasn’t here. The event never started, but by the end of the dream, we had to clear out of the arena for the next event. At different points throughout the dream I did hear recorded music from the stage like soft instrumental worship music. Certainly a Christian event was about to happen anytime but it didn’t.

The Commissioners

The three commissioners drove away from the arena in three updated cars. The cars were long with jumbo all terrain tires. Maybe it was an “experimental” vehicle like a Batmobile. It was like styled like a stretched 1930s gangster car. Somehow I knew the former (older, outdated, retired, not present) car more resembled a 1930s gangster car, and this new car still carried a visual similarity.

The roads were broken and they mostly drove in the median or some space between broken roads. They jumped gaps and rolled over big weeds. In the dream, I was riding along kind of like a video game experience dash cam view. The commissioners drove around to demonstrate how well they maintained the roads or some prideful image they needed to uphold.

Also a pickup truck (1970s Chevy perhaps) was part of the motorcade. It was driven by a maintenance man that served The Commissioners, following them everywhere. His truck missed jumping a gap and fell into the broken road. Like, into the road. It landed half in the ground and part of the cab and the back end was sticking out. It was revealed by the driver, after he looked it over, that the truck “only needed an oil change to fix it” as “good to go.” I remember feeling anxious for him to rejoin the procession. I hoped for him to be healed and whole. But, I knew the maintenance man was loyal but to the wrong master. Some kind of slave of The Commissioners. Spiritually, he needed to be lifted out of a pit and saved.

Sorting Nuts

After this ride, I was back in the arena. I received a text message that began the Bible playing in my ears. The women were still sorting nuts wanting seeds. They had done a lot of work since I saw them last. Almonds in shells lined up in rows all turned the same way. Very precise. I said “it’s my cart, please leave the bread for me I need it, but you can take the nuts.”

I think I was expecting Elevation church (or similar) on the stage. Everyone stayed, without anyone ever coming on stage, until we had to leave, or “clear out for the next event.” Kids were playing joyfully. Those women searching for seeds intensely. I wanted to help and went to look knowing I wouldn’t find seeds.

Awaken

I woke. Thank you Lord.

I immediately paused the Bible where Jacob is called Israel. And wrote this out. We had put on Bible Gateway, with Max McLean’s voice, listening to Genesis 7 as we fell asleep and I woke to Genesis 32:28.
