I am a fairly new Christian and 9/8/2023 is my rebirth birthday at the feet of Jesus, the Christ of the Ozarks, in Arkansas. My public confession came on 2/4/2024. I have always written and created, things like photography, poetry, short stories, fiction novels, music and songs.
I love writing songs and playing guitar. After many decades in the secular world of music, it’s great to now be listening to and inspired by God’s glory.
So, I’m not new to writing, but I am new to writing about Jesus and my faith. I need an outlet for remembrance and sharing. I have been taught that if God gives us a gift in abundance and we don’t give it away, the gift may dry up. I had an outpouring of poems and lyrics from April to July (2024) or so. This seemed to dry up. I don’t want to be in a wilderness or desert. I want to be in the flow and anointing, in the overflow. I decided to step into it, press in, and finding this is my calling, I must share.
These words that I curate, organize, sometimes rhyme and count the syllables of a stanza are not for me alone. I intend to share and give away what has been given to me. Poems and lyrics can make songs, but I’m not the only songwriter in this world, and I’m not much of a singer. Please, create psalms with whatever you might find here on this blog. Sing to the Lord. Sing a new song of praise with the angels. God is so creative, pursue song creation in His image. All the glory and praise is for God. We are part of the body his Church with Jesus as the head. We are all part of the body of Christ.
Thank you Jesus!
4 Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. (Psalm 105:4)
18 … Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5:18-20)
1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. (Psalm 100:1-2)
6 What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone 7 as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? (Job 38:6-7)
9 And they sang a new song… to the Lamb of God. (Revelation 5:9 emphasis added)
All Glory to the Lord.
