I have visions of her
She will rise
Light on her face
Fueled by Grace
Preaching Your message
To many with hardened hearts
Leading them to Your side
Speaking in truth and love
To all the captives with ears
Be set free of all the fears
His mighty hand is on her ministry
Walk in the union with Jesus
Disciple to the masses
Delivering freedom and His easy yoke
They listen to the Words you spoke
Soften their hearts
with the love and His spirit
The love of the Father
We are thankful for Him
Grateful for the Light
When all seems dim
We fall into His arms
Taken away all that harms
And drink from His cup
By His grace, we are lifted up
This vision of this mighty woman
Forsaking doubt from the past
Proclaiming liberty to the shackled
The enemies are her footstool
The good Lord provides
O Lord, give her the boldness
Give her Your words
Give her Your strength
Increase her measure
Glory upon glory
She is your humble servant
The least of these
To do as you please.
(A poem of Shannon 2/15/2025 by ScottM)
Testimony
Our friend Shannon, our sister in Christ, has been fighting some sickness in the hospital for a couple weeks. The first hospital didn’t seem to do more than treat her symptoms and send her home. The second hospital went deeper and when we woke up on the day I wrote this poem, the news was about imaging that revealed a possible tumor, or cancer, or some mass.
Before I had sufficient coffee to drink, this poem wrote itself, it was born. I have had visions of Shannon as a disciple and ministering to the lost sheep for a while now, but they had grown in detail and urgency since the time of her near death experience (which had brought her to the hospital the first time a couple weeks ago).
I cannot claim this poem as my thoughts or of my pen. These words poured out of me. I believe this poem is prophetic and of God.
Visit the sick
Later that same day, we were able to visit Shannon in her hospital room. As the three of us arrived, Shannon’s pastor and assistant pastor were praying and laying hands on Shannon. God’s timing, God’s provision.
I immediately took a knee and began intercessory prayer for the praying pastors and Shannon, for God to show me His glory through these mighty women of God. I spoke words of healing and wholeness. I have been studying and praying about intercessory prayer. I am an intercessor as God’s will provides, and I receive His measure.
A few of my words about the angels in the room were repeated by the pastor as she prayed (I have witnessed this kind of “repeating” happening with others as well during intercessory prayer).
I gave thanks and honor to the angels, and praises to the Lord. They finished with in the name of Jesus and we all said amen and we began to greet one other. Everyone in the room was familiar, and had attended events at their church at least a few times.
Again I found confirmation and discernment of my measure in what just happened. It had to be God’s plan for the five of us to have Shannon to ourselves for this brief moment. God’s plan. Praise Him!
Reflecting on this visit, I assume the family had taken the visitors’ presence as an opportunity to leave and get something to eat. Before we headed home, Shannon’s husband came from work and her two children with their grandmother (Shannon’s mom) returned to her bedside.
As we all chatted, it was clear Shannon’s spirit has been ignited by the fresh fire of the Father, she was radiant and joyful. I witnessed the Glory of God in her. She was ministering to us! She was caring of us! She had no fear. I had asked to see Glory and here it was.
Angels
I could see in the spirit all the angels in the room, full of movement and energy. There was one angel that was not moving like the others, peculiar and particular, under Shannon’s hospital bed. My seeing angels in the spirit is usually best described as white and light. Some form and shape of human like proportions, but without much detail.
I could tell this angel under the bed was horizontal in a similar position of how Shannon was reclined on the hospital bed. Additionally, the angel’s arms were extended as if holding or lifting her up. Very stable and unwavering.
Some of the angels had come with the pastors (I could see that), some were with us, some were hanging out, some were full of great movement flying around the room, vibrating or dancing. The mood and spirit of all in the room was joy, love and Christ-filled. I hadn’t stopped praying internally, and quietly out loud I was thanking the angels and praising the Lord. There might have been hundreds of angels in our midst.
Laying on of hands
After some rejoicing and greeting one another, the pastor suggested we all lay hands on Shannon (Mark 16:18). We did and took turns in prayer, I had no idea what I would say. As we did this, the number of angels in the room seemed to grow rapidly and maybe there were thousands. Like, all the angels in the entire 10 story hospital (regional) wanted to see and hear the worship and praise going on at that moment in Shannon’s room. They had left their assignments to witness this move of God. All the angels wanted a glimpse (1 Peter 1:12).
I felt overwhelming gladness that I was here. My external prayer expressed how I felt blessed beyond any in my experience to be surrounded by these five mighty sisters in Christ as we prayed together on this day. All glory to the Lord. I also spoke words of healing and wholeness.
I remember the assistant pastor touching my arm, she was on my left. After my turn to pray, I found myself listening to her as she whispered in tongues. In my experiences, speaking tongues is like laughter: it’s highly contagious. I began whispering in tongues as well. God’s hand was all over this moment. I had asked to see Glory and here it was.
When we had finished, these visiting angels rejoiced and departed to their assigned places elsewhere. Rejoice! She shall rise soon and step into her calling as a mighty disciple and apostle of the Lord to spread the message of salvation and mercy to the lost sheep.
Follow Him
The pastors had gone and Shannon’s family had returned. The little room was filled, standing room only. Without a thought or reason, I slipped out of the crowded patient’s room. Later I found out that no one noticed I had left the room. I felt drawn toward something, but I did not know. Once in the corridor, it occurred to me to find the waiting room near the elevators that I had seen on the way in, maybe there would be coffee or water. In other hospitals I’ve visited, a waiting room was where coffee was found.
I came to the waiting room and it was closed. So I moved across the elevator lobby from 7 West to 7 East. There were two waiting rooms here, one on each side of the corridor, but thoughts of coffee were replaced by seeing Shannon’s husband sitting alone on my left.
As the spirit showed me, he was lit up, highlighted, kind of like how I see angels: white and light. I couldn’t really hear the other people. Both waiting rooms were full of people. I saw kids running, laughing and wanting vending machines to offer them goodies. All of this activity faded away, and I, myself, felt unseen. As I entered the space, Shannon’s husband noticed me. He seemed unsettled and frigidity.
Discipleship has been heavy on my heart for months. Being drawn to the Book of Acts (especially Paul and Barnabas church planting across Galatia), and God is showing me what my path will be like and the idea of fishing for people was growing in me. God had led me down these hospital corridors, brought me to this man that I know, and gave me this opportunity to minister to a brother in Christ. I stepped into it, not knowing what I would say.
He talked to me about his role, his feelings of weakness, expectations and major uncertainty. I learned there was a laparoscopic procedure scheduled for the morning and how there were “options” the doctors had told him about, once they could “see” what they were dealing with. His words were heavy and personal.
I still didn’t know what to say. I leaned into the Word of God. I gave encouragement and a reminder of God’s strength in our weakness. “Trust God.” We prayed together for the doctors and surgeons, for their hands and for God to show them what they needed to see.
Shannon had the procedure this morning and it was successful (that’s all I know)! Praise God!!
