Capacity to Steward

God gives us a capacity to Steward. We each have the gift to steward, but our capacity may vary.

Kynan Bridges teaching:

The 3 Irrefutable Laws of Stewardship:

  1. We cannot be trusted with resources we don’t have the capacity to steward.
  2. God will not give you more if you have shown an inability to manage what you have.
  3. God holds us accountable for what He places in our care.

Stewardship: OIKOS NOMOS: The law of governing one’s house.

“Your level of stewardship will always determine your next level of promotion.” (James 1:5-8)

“People want what they desire, but they are not ready for what they desire. God doesn’t just give you what you desire, He gives you what you have the capacity to steward.”

The wine miracle at Cana (John 2) couldn’t happen without vessels to contain the capacity.

The woman needs more vessels to contain the miracle, the answer to her prayer, the increase. Go borrow thee vessels of thy neighbors, not just a few. (2 Kings 4:1-7)

“God will not give you more if you’ve shown an inability to manage what you already have.” (Luke 16:10) “God holds us accountable for what He places in our care.” (1Cor 4:1) “If it can’t meet your need then it’s a seed. Never despise something when it’s in seed form.” (2 Kings 4:3) “Properly steward what God has given me and trusted me with.”

Luke 2:52 (KJV)
52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

Ephesians 1:18-19 (NIV)
18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe.

1 Peter 4:10 (ESV)
As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:

You must know the hope of your calling. God wants to increase your influence. Are you prepared? … “You can’t have more of this without having more of that, it all connects together. When God increases your influence, he will also increase your enemies… Any time God gives you increase, you’ll look out and you’ll see barriers and restrictions that you never saw before. You’ll see what was a creek turn into a river and overflow its banks and flood because you’re on the verge of stepping into another level of influence. And when you’re on the verge of stepping into another level of influence, there will be certain floods that come in your life, and you’ll have to be prepared to deal with the floods so you can get to the harvest,” said TD Jakes, The Potter’s Touch after referencing Joshua 1:2-7.
